Castleton homebred Up the Ante, made just about all the running earlier today in an allowance at Belmont. Returning to a firm lawn here, the sophomore colt broke well for pilot Joel Rosario who had him three wide early, but once they cleared the chute he poked his head in front and stayed there to take the eight furlong contest by an eased down 3 1/4 lengths. Trainer Christophe Clement was very happy with the colt's performance and will likely view future stakes races for his next outing. Up the Ante is now two for four lifetime.
