The admirably consistent Zanotti won the 7th race of his career when successful in the $125,000 Queens County Stakes at Aqueduct, December 23rd, over 9 furlongs on a sloppy main track. Stalking the field and settling in fifth early on the Gio Ponti gelding swung four wide in the stretch and showing a turn of foot like his sire used to, he quickly made ground and got up on time at the wire. Owner Ten Strike Racing and trainer Juan Guerrero were rewarded here as the horse returned from a layoff and was spot on for this valuable prize. Post-race, jockey Jorge Vargas, jr. stated "First of all, I have to give a lot of credit to Juan Guerrero. He brought this horse with his A game... I just let him flow out there and he just put me in the right spot. Good trip. When I angled he just took off" Zanotti, bred by Castleton Lyons and Kilboy Estate has now reached earnings of $251,904 with this latest victory.
