MODIGLIANI three-year-old filly 2nd in Dusseldorf listed race
The Stan Moore trained Kinky Afro a daughter of Modigliani was beaten a short head by Ronja into second place in the Henkel-Stutenpreis, a listed race run at Dusseldorf today. This 1 mile turf event is a recognized trial for the Group 2 German 1000 Guineas which will be run over the same course and distance on May 1. The English invader came with a great run to join the leaders about 1 1/2 furlongs out and responded gamely to jockey Liam Keniry to just come up short on the line.
