GIO PONTI (h. 5, Tale of the Cat - Chipeta Springs by Alydar) has traveled safely to Dubai and is preparing for his entry in the $10 million G1 Dubai World Cup.  The world's richest race is expecting a full field including multiple graded stakes winner TWICE OVER, G1 winner VISION D'ETAT, last year's World Cup runner-up GLORIA DE CAMPEAO, and G1 winner GITANO HERNANDO.  RICHARD'S KID and FURTHEST LAND are also among the invaders from the United States.

GIO PONTI had a safe and uneventful flight last week and Trainer Christophe Clement is pleased with his preparations.  Jockey Ramon Dominguez will travel to the United Arab Emirates to ride GIO PONTI, less than a week after earning his 4000th career win. The World Cup will be the 2nd start of GIO PONTI's 5 year old campaign, coming off a stellar 2009 when the colt won four Grade 1 races and topped off the year with Dual Eclipse Awards for Turf Male and Older Horse.

The Dubai World Cup will run on Saturday, March 27th and will air on HRTV at about 1:45pm EST.  Castleton Lyons is thrilled with GIO PONTI's entry in the World Cup, and is proud to have their homebred take part in this opportunity of a lifetime!
