2010 STUD FEES ANNOUNCED: GIO PONTI TO STAY IN TRAINING

Nov 13th, 09

Shane Ryan, President of Castleton Lyons announced today that Breeders’ Cup Classic runner-up, Gio Ponti will stay in training for 2010.

“We have decided to race Gio Ponti again next year having completed a stellar campaign with him in 2009 winning four Grade 1 races in a row and beating some of the best colts in the world in the tremendously historic Classic last Saturday at Santa Anita. The leading American colt Gio Ponti will eventually become a very worthy addition to the stallion ranks at Castleton Lyons, but in the meantime for all of his fans out there we are thrilled to declare our intentions for 2010 with the Dubai World Cup as an exciting early season objective.

We are also pleased to announce the stud fees for the Castleton Lyons stallions for 2010 and assure our valued clients that we have responded to the current economic uncertainty of the bloodstock market. Bernstein will stand for a reduced fee of $25,000 which represents excellent value for such a solid and consistent Grade 1 producing sire. Exciting young sires Action this Day and Toccet have both had their fees reduced to $5,000."
