2009 STUD FEES

Dec 10th, 08

Castleton Lyons is pleased to announce the 2009 stud fees for its stallions:

BERNSTEIN $27,500

SIR SHACKLETON $5,000

TOCCET $7,500

WISEMAN’S FERRY relocated to Dana Point in Pennsylvania

All fees November 1st terms

“Bernstein has had a sensational first crop of Castleton Lyons conceived two-year-olds highlighted by 3 graded winners including Grade 1 winner and Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies runner-up Dream Empress,” Shane Ryan, President of Castleton Lyons, said.

“We are conscious of the present difficult economic conditions that our industry has to contend with and have adjusted Bernstein’s fee to a very realistic and commercial figure which offers breeders value for money.

“Toccet has made a great start to his stud career with 12 individual winners and the promise of several ‘dark horses’ which look set to make their mark in the coming months. We have reduced Toccet’s stud fee as a gesture to breeders to keep this stallion as competitive as possible in 2009 having bred a full book last season.

“Sir Shackleton has bred a solid book of mares over the last two years and we anticipate that his first crop foals will prove commercial in the sale ring and as fast as he was when they hit the track in 2010.”
