RYONO TESORO WINS CROCUS STAKES IN JAPAN

Ryono Tesoro, from the first crop of Justin Phillip won Saturday's Crocus Stakes at Tokyo racecourse. This seven-furlong turf event marked the colt's third win in just four starts. Bred by Highland Yard, he was a $300,000 graduate from the Barretts March two-year-old sale last spring, when consigned by Eddie Woods and purchased by Kenji Ryotokuji. The Crocus Stakes carried prizemoney of YEN36million and boosted Ryon Tesoro's earnings to an US equivalent of over $300,000.
