Mark Casse's filly Safe to Say, a three year old daughter of Justin Phillip, prevailed in a tight finish to claim the second leg of the Canadian Triple Tiara on July 1st. The CAN$225,00 Bison City Stakes was run at Woodbine over 8 1/2 furlongs of their Tapeta surface and Safe to Say entered into this off a good third place in the G3 Selene over course and distance in May. Settled in mid pack by jockey Jerome Lermyte she was angled four wide in the stretch and set sail for home reaching the leaders with just a 16th to travel and was all out to gamely secure the valuable prize by a neck at the wire. Post race trainer Mark Casse said "I think we kind of picked this out and said this was the race. She has improved this year". The Windways Farm and Gary Barber owned filly was bred by Bay Ridge Orchards Limited in Ontario.
