The Castleton Lyons Homebred Takes the Bourbon Stakes

In a win that could not have been timed better had it been choreographed,

GIO PONTI (c. 2, Tale of the Cat — Chipeta Springs, by Alydar) won the Woodford Reserve Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland. Following the death of Dr. Ryan, the victory was bitter sweet for the entire Castleton Lyons Team who were on hand to cheer the colt to victory. Bred and raced by Castleton Lyons, the professional colt is from the same family as G1 winner Salt Spring, granddam of G1 winner Mongoose, GSW Hesanoldsalt and Puxa Saco.
