2 Year Old Colt by BERNSTEIN takes the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes in Japan
GOSHAWK KEN (c.2, BERNSTEIN-ALLTHEWAYBABY by GRAND SLAM) went wire-to-wire in a convincing victory in the 59th running of the Asahi Hai Futurity on the turf. The colt, ridden by Masaki Katsuura blazed through the mile in 1 minute and 33.5 seconds! Katsurra is quoted touting the colt, "He's just fantastic all-round." This victory will most likely clinch the title of Japanese Champion Juvenile for this colt conditioned by Makoto Saito. The Asahi Hai was the colt's first open class race win and puts his earnings total over 72 million yen. GOSHAWK KEN wears the silks of Yoshio Fujita and was bred by Four Horsemans Ranch.
