SIGNATURE RED RETAINS HIGHLANDER
Signature Red (h 6,Bernstein - Irish and Foxy by Irish Open) won the G2 Highlander at Woodbine yesterday. Settled in a close 3rd early in this 6 furlong contest, jockey Luis Contreras moved the Bernstein to 2nd at the half which was run in very fast fractions, and took it up in the stretch to eventually prevail by a nose at the wire. Signature Red is according to trainer Sid Attard very well suited to Woodbine's turf track, while also possessing enough class to perform with distinction on the main track.
