Son of Storm Cat Hits All The Notes!
*Be on the lookout for BERNSTEIN's yearlings at the upcoming Keeneland September Sale!*
BERNSTEIN had a fantastic weekend with winners throughout the east and midwest! Beginnning on Friday with an impressive Maiden Special Weight score for the two year old, Dream Empress (out of Chinese Empress by Nijinsky II) at Saratoga. This determined filly dug deep to edge out her rivals going 8 1/2 furlongs on the turf for Kenny McPeek and Livin the Dream Racing. This tenacious filly was bred by Hopewell Investments, Glencrest Farm, and Bryan Cross.
On Saturday, BERNSTEIN progeny kept rolling with an allowance victory at Woodbine by Daring Attraction (out of Daring Dame by Native Wizard). KATE'S MAIN MAN put the icing on the day with a solid 3 length victory in the listed $70,000 Iowa Breeders Derby at Prairie Meadows. The talented 3 year old (out of Kate d'Kate by D'Accord) put in an impressive 8 1/2 furlongs on the main track for conditioner, Tim Gleason. Congratulations to Loretta McClintock who bred and owns KATE'S MAIN MAN!
As if the weekend wasn't impressive enough already, Sunday rounded out the weekend with three more winners for BERNSTEIN. Proceed Bee (c. 2, Bernstein - Procession by Private Terms) broke his maiden convincingly by 2 1/2 lengths at Arlington Park in Maiden Special Weight company for trainer Terry Gestes. The colt is owned by William Stiritz and was bred by Hunter Valley Farm, H & W Thoroughbreds & Mary Wade. Shot A Flirt broke his maiden by 1 1/2 lengths for trainer Roberto Madrigal and owners Bennye and Miranda Martinez. Last but not least, Forward Bernie (g. 4, Bernstein - Stand Forward by Stanstead) won in allowance company by 8 1/2 lengths!
Castleton Lyons is proud to stand BERNSTEIN and would like to congratulate all of the winning connections of these talented horses!
