Bernstein courageous in Ride The Rails stake!
BERNIE THE MAESTRO (g 3, Bernstein - Horah for Bailey by Doneraile Court) fought back very tenaciously when pressed in the straight during the Ride The Rails Stakes for 3-year-olds over an extended mile on the main track at Calder today. The Bernstein went off as the 7/5 chalk and made most of the running until headed by about 1/2 length in the stretch by market rival Coffee Boy. Bernie the Maestro battled along the rail and fought his way back into the lead going away for a 2 length victory at the wire. Congratulations to owners Stride Rite Racing Stable et al, trainer Milton Wolfson & jockey Paco Lopez.
