MISS WORLD Wins the G1 Garden City Stakes!
MISS WORLD (f. 3, Bernstein - Moonstar by Kingmambo) became BERNSTEIN's latest G1 winner with an explosive finish in the G1 Garden City Stakes at Belmont Park yesterday. Ridden by Cornelio Velasquez who kept the filly steady in traffic throughout the first turn and to the half-mile pole, MISS WORLD made a 4-wide bid in the far turn, linked up with the leaders and quickly drove to pull clear and win by 1 3/4 lengths.
MISS WORLD is owned by Waratah Thoroughbreds and trained by Christophe Clement. The victory is especially sweet for Castleton Lyons as the filly was bred by sister-farm Kilboy Estate, and the mare resides at Castleton with a 2 year old full sister in training with Brian Meehan in England and a full brother on the ground.
