With first crop weanlings bringing up to $200,000 at the breeding stock sales, Gio Ponti's average of $125,778 was an excellent return for breeders that supported the triple Eclipse Award winner when he first stood for $20,000 at Castleton Lyons for the 2012 season. Gio Ponti's Keeneland November Sale average of $125,250 was the highest for any freshman sire at that sale and his overall median of $120,000 was the highest amongst his peers at both the Fasig Tipton and Keeneland November Sales. Highlights included an exceptional colt from the family of Juvenile Champion Action This Day, presented by his co-breeder Mike Barnett's Blackburn Farm that ace pinhooker Peter O'Callaghan of Woods Edge Farm purchased for $200,000 on the first day of Keeneland.

The six figure prices continued all the way through to Book 4 as Beau Lane Bloodstock sold Gio Ponti's first North American born foal out of Kissin Party for $165,000 easily the leading weanling price attained in that book. Pinhookers JCDW bought this striking looking colt with observers remarking that he may have been the best weanling by any sire in the Keeneland November Sale. This Canadian foaled colt was bred by Dan Mooney from Ontario, Canada.
